Any community has what it takes to build wealth and prosperity, without natural resources.
"Breaking Out of the Resource Trap: An Economic Plan for Resource-Based Communities," a new report by Strong Towns, a national movement for fiscally stable, prosperous cities and towns, will be available June 9.
The report shares examples from real-life communities that are moving forward from natural resource dependence in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, and more. It includes straightforward strategies for building resilience using local tools, and a wealth of practical references for local leaders who are ready to get started.
Parts of the report are available now here.
Local government leaders, citizens, and members of the media are invited to join in on a live presentation on the report Tuesday, June 8 at noon EDT. Led by Charles Marohn, Strong Towns founder and president, the presentation will discuss five key steps for shoring up community wealth and feature a robust Q&A session.
Strong Towns is a national movement that helps local leaders identify the cause of decline in our cities and take action to build a stronger, financially resilient future. Strong Towns is reshaping the conversation about development in North America with its advocacy for bottom-up, incremental action.
